Repairing a mains water pipe

An engineer from the water board identified a leaky pipe using a listening stick – basically a wooden stick which he put one end on the ground and the other to his ear!  Through which he could hear the water leaking through a metre of soil. Amazing, really, so simple.

Anyway, I dug up the bush that the leaky pipe was under, found the leak, which was just a pin hole, fixed it and filled the hole in again, replanting the shrub back on top. 👍
